The Production

KEIMFARBEN's products are produced in our plants at Diedorf and at Alteno, Luckau. KEIMFARBEN has been certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for some considerable time and is also a member of Umweltpakt Bayern, a joint public/private project committing KEIMFARBEN to ongoing environmental improvement.

The Diedorf plant primarily produces products for paint systems. The raw materials are excavated from various European deposits and transported by rail and road and held in silos for production. A fully automatic mixing installation converts these raw materials into our various products which, after tinting, are dispatched to our customers.

The wide range of colour shades is obtained by tinting in a high-speed mixer. Available colour shades are from KEIM's Exclusive range and special custom blended shades. Lightfast inorganic, mineral pigments are used for formulation, production and quality control of the colour shades. Modern colorimeters assist with determining colour shade.

The Alteno plant in Luckau in particular produces "dry" products, using a dry render installation to produce the dry-bagged mortar for KEIM's external wall insulation systems. Silicate renders are produced in horizontal mixers. Patent renders, wet renders and Restauro system products are also coloured with lightfast inorganic, mineral pigments and are likewise controlled and monitored using a colorimetry system.

A SAP/R3 system is used to manage all production logistics and formulation processes and permits documented batch management and tracking. This system is also in charge of overall inventory management and scheduling of finished products and raw materials.
